How secure are you and your exchanges with other people? Do the things you share with people only reach them? Or is somebody else reading?
This article is to clear up certain misconceptions. A friend asked me recently about the ‘end-to-end’ whatsApp encryption. She wanted to know how it works.
Simply, it means that whatever you share, does not get relayed. This means that, your calls and texts and video chats are just between you and the person on the other end. It means, even the WhatsApp team cannot read your messages before relaying it to the receiver. It’s even more interesting because, only you and the person have the decryption key.
This end-to-end chat is not obtainable on platforms like Messenger, which still uses relay. This means that your chats are monitired and when there is need, can be traced back to you.
So, get on WhatsApp and enjoy discretion!
