  • what is css: this simply means cascading style sheet, its used in
    defining your style, example font, color, block border, margin, background-color,
    and many more like i said about my previous post on how HTML work with css absolutely it makes a web work, css is a style used in customizing a web upto standard example the using of “div,span,font,” element.
    at start there are three types of css namely
  • External style sheet
  • Internal style sheet
  • Inline style

tip: we have font inline, div inline, span inline when editing a text field’

  • what is inline style sheet: as i will explain to you now i will want you
    to bend down your head to understand what i will explain to, hope you understand me
    inline are the style used in an element in when editing, lets assume you are editing a
    document in your html text editor and you had a heading that says “who is man and his wife” you will want to style to green color
    now you will have to deal with an inline css

what will you do now to get your wish ? lets begin hope you are understands me
you will use a font inline style here we go this
how to use the font inline style

<h1 style="color:green;">who is man and his wife</h1>

remember in
every open variable must be closed with a greater than sign in other to avoid error, the above code i wrote will generate a heading with a
green color, below we have six heading format namely

 h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6,

all will be closed
with a greater than sign example

it will be in this form

<h1>your heading to be here</h1>

that applies to others,
css as a course is big enough to control a script styling based on its format example the color of facebook is blue and white the blue and and white is the css, example
the header of facebook where you can see notification, home, logout, menu, pages this how the css is been set

most recommanded articles you might read

what is external style sheet: external css are the css you use, its an instructions given to render a page which are stored in a single file, which makes it easy to edit the styling across an entire website or multiple elements. The file uses the .CSS file extension which are controlled by you in person or third party websites example those that are using wapka.mobi copies external classes
by

http://externalsite.wapka.mobi/styles.css

this automatically extracts the targeted domain name classes.
Note: this function of extraction only works for wapka.mobi.
example of external stylesheet:

<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="STANDCODE.css">
</head>

THIS HOW TO LINK AN EXTERNAL STYLE SHEET:
Every web page that needs to use particular external style sheet needs to link to the Cascading style sheet file within the section, much like this:

Note: external style sheet can be written in any text editor example notepad. The file of external style sheet must not contain any HTML code, and it must be saved with a .css extension.

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="styles.css">

In ABOVE example, the only thing that you need to change to make it apply to your own document, is the styles.css text.
hope you understand?

that is the location of your CSS file in your script.
If it should be that the file is called styles.css and is located in the exact same folder as the document that’s linking to it, then it can remain exactly as it reads above.

Benefits of external css:

The greatest benefit of external style sheets is that its not tied to any of your specific page. If any styling is performed internally or in-line, other pages in your website can not point to those styling preferences/setup.
hope you understand?
external style sheets are contained within its own file, it can be created like this, and it means the exact same thing as the above sample:

body {
    background-color: green;
}

h1 {
    color: blue;
    margin-left: 15px;
}

In these examples i have written in standcode, inline styling only applies to its particular page, evident by the fact that it’s contained in that HTML page’s header details.

With the second example, the CSS information is self-contained in a Cascading Style Sheet file that any page can link to using the code from it thats How to Link/integrate to an External Style Sheet section as specified above
hope you understand.

what is internal style sheet: internal stylesheet is the style which handles CSS code for the particular webpage in the head section of the particular file/website. internal style sheet is the place we create classes, id’s in order to reuse the code automatically. The lowside of internal stylesheet is that it changes the internal stylesheet only and effect the page the code is inserted into.
example of internal style sheet:

<head>
 <style type="text/css">

   h1 {color:yellow;}

   h2 {color:darkred;}

   p {color:forestgreen;}

   </style>

 </head>

i hope in the above lesson i have thought you understands the fundamental part of css in my next lesson i will teach you about how to style a div container.
